The Sphinx (Japanese: スフインクス, Sphinx) is an Earth attribute creature and a Weapon type card introduced in Lost Kingdoms.

Two of these creatures fight alongside the Great Turtle in the Temple of Amentankh.

  • By transforming a Mummy card with 4000 EXP
  • By receiving it as a reward in Lumsted. Obtained by winning 26-28 battles before cleansing the 4th well.
  • By transforming a Tiger Mage card with 2000 EXP
  • By transforming a Behemoth card with 1000 EXP
  • By transforming a Demon Fox card with 1000 EXP
  • By opening a chest in the Temple of Amentankh. Found in the farthest of large rooms to the lower right of the level's entrance.
  • By capturing one during the boss battle of the Temple of Amentankh
  • By choosing one in the Level Bonus for the Temple of Amentankh. Up to 2 Sphinx cards are available.
  • By copying one using 4000 EXP

The Sphinx (Japanese: スフインクス, Sphinx) returns in Lost Kingdoms II. It retains both the Earth attribute and the Weapon type.

A lone Sphinx can be found as an enemy in Royal Tower, Upper. Other enemy Sphinxes can be found in Level 8 of the Proving Grounds.

Obtainability[]

  • By opening a chest in Royal Tower, Middle, but only in the US and PAL versions of Lost Kingdoms II. Found behind the cracked wall in the Behemoth's room that can only be broken by using a Power Transformer type card with a Magic Booster. This card was replaced with the MaCoy the 8th's Theme Music Card in RUNE II, the Japanese version.
  • By capturing one in Royal Tower, Upper
  • By opening a chest in Royal Tower, Upper, but only in RUNE II. Found past the 3rd doorway in the 2nd traversable large room. This card replaced the Spartoi card from the US and PAL versions.
  • By choosing one in the Level Bonus for Royal Tower, Upper. Only 1 Sphinx card is available in the US and PAL versions, but 2 are available in RUNE II. This Level Bonus can be accessed whenever the level is cleared with at least 1 rating star.
  • By upgrading a Manticore card with 16000 EXP
  • By capturing one in Level 8 of the Proving Grounds
  • By choosing one in the Level Bonus for Level 8 of the Proving Grounds, but only in RUNE II. Only 1 Sphinx card is available. This Level Bonus can be accessed whenever the level is cleared with at least 1 rating star.
  • By importing Sphinx cards from a Lost Kingdoms save file after clearing Sacred Battle Arena 2. The option to import cards can only be taken once.
  • By copying one using 28000 EXP
