The Capture Card (Japanese: キャプチャーカード, Capture Card) is a very special card introduced in Lost Kingdoms II. It is officially considered a neutral attribute helper card but has its own unique card frame and mechanics.

Appearance[]

The Capture Card is a card with a unique, red, rectangular frame and art that depicts the same visual effects used in the capture animation. Most notably the rune-marked red circle which encloses around monsters.

The card itself does not depict a monster and cannot be used to summon one.

Obtainability[]

  • The Capture Card is not bought in the usual shops. It can only be bought from a man behind a statue in Kadishu in Lost Kingdoms II. In RUNE II, Capture Cards can be found and bought the same way as in the US and PAL regions, but for much cheaper.
  • In RUNE II, up to three Capture Cards can be obtained at a time in the level bonus for Sacred Battle Arena 2.

Strategies[]

The Capture Card is a replacement for the Capturing mechanic in the original game, limiting the obtainability of other cards.

As a Card[]

Throwing a Capture Card does 10 damage in Lost Kingdoms II. If the damage would kill the target, the Capture Card will transform the monster into a Card.

The new Card can be collected from any Deck Point or at the end of the current level. Quitting will also give the player immediate access to the new monster.

Unlike in the first game however, cards used to successfully capture monsters are permanently removed from the player's possession.

As a Monster[]

The Capture Card does not appear as an enemy monster.

Glitches[]

  • If a capture card is thrown with a floor above you, the capture card will be instantly destroyed. The card first checks for collision above the player and if there is a low enough floor, the card will incorrectly believe it has contacted the floor.
